In 2022, GPRWC and partner agencies hired a consultant to produce a business development plan for the Madison/Pulaski Corridor with deep input from community organizations, community residents and other stakeholders. Using surveys of residents, public community-wide visioning workshops and other events, and meetings among community organizations, the process resulted in a comprehensive plan identifying opportunities for change. The plan focuses on improving safety and walkability, beautifying and cleaning up vacant and dilapidated sites, improving existing businesses, and inspiring future business development. While this plan preceded the formal QLP process under LISC’s guidance, the plan forms an important basis for our current work especially in the economic development priority area. Recommendations from the Business Corridor Plan are expected to be incorporated into the final QLP.
